Barbara J. Krumsiek
Barbara J. Krumsiek is President, CEO, and Co-Chairperson of Calvert Group, Ltd. since 1997. Calvert offers the nation’s largest family of socially responsible mutual funds, award winning fixed income funds, and the Calvert Social IndexTM, a benchmark measuring the performance of large, U.S.-based socially responsible companies. In total, Calvert manages over $9.7 billion among 29 mutual funds. Recently, Barron’s ranked Calvert the 11th best performing mutual fund family for five years ending in 2003. Before joining Calvert, Ms. Krumsiek spent 23 years with Alliance Capital Management, LP where she served as Senior Vice President and Managing Director for the mutual funds division. Ms. Krumsiek has been named “Outstanding CEO of the Year” by the Women’s Business Center of Washington DC; named by Washingtonian Magazine’s as one of Washington D.C.’s 100 most powerful women; awarded the CEO Diversity Award by Diversity Best Practices; named to the Rutgers Hall of Distinguished Alumni; named to The Douglass Society by Douglass College; and was the recipient of the Degree of Doctor of Humane Letters, Honoris Causa, for her work in advancing the critical dialogue regarding the role of business in society. Ms. Krumsiek received a B.A. in mathematics from Douglass College, Rutgers University and an M.S. from the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences, New York University.
